The event brings together the community whether you're a first-time paddler or a seasoned river enthusiast. Paddlers will launch from the Rivermont Park Dixie Boat Launch and enjoy an approximately 4-mile (about 2-hour) leisurely paddle downstream to Coolidge Park. Free pre-shuttles are provided. Kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), and dragon boats are all invited to join the parade. Bring your own paddlecraft or borrow or rent one through one of our participating outfitters (availability may vary). Make it festive—costumes and decorated paddlecraft are encouraged! This year's parade will feature prizes for: Most Creative Paddler Best Decorated Paddlecraft Best Group Theme For everyone's safety and to help protect the Tennessee River, please ensure that all costumes and decorations are securely attached to your paddlecraft and will not create debris in the water. Costumes must not interfere with the use of a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket, which are required to be worn in this event. Free pre-shuttles are provided between 8:30 am and 9:30 am- registration is enco There will be NO PARKING at the Rivermont Park due to a Tennis Tournament so plan to either take the provided shuttle or shuttle your own party and park down by the take out at Coolidge Park! You will be asked to sign a waiver in person for the shuttle and the Paddle Parade. Your boat will then be tagged and you will be given a wristband with the tag number so you can identify your boat after the shuttle. We love our furry family but unfortunately, no pets are allowed on the shuttles. Car seats are not permitted on the shuttle, little ones must be old enough to sit in their own seat to take the shuttle.
