Guided Kayak Tour on West Chickamauga Creek – Part of Outdoor Chattanooga's Blueway Water Trail Adventure Series Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a scenic and immersive guided kayak tour along a 3.9-mile stretch of West Chickamauga Creek, from Battlefield Parkway to Cloud Springs. This explorer program offers paddlers a chance to experience on of many designated Blueway Water Trails in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. Winding through forested banks and a few shallow glades, the gently flowing creek provides a relaxing paddle with just enough challenge to keep it interesting. Occasional snags and tree falls require some light navigation, adding to the sense of adventure. Along the way, watch for local wildlife including river cooters sunning on logs, graceful herons wading through the shallows, industrious beavers, and even the occasional elusive human enjoying the solitude of the water. This tour is perfect for beginner and intermediate paddlers looking for a unique way to explore one of the region's hidden aquatic gems. Easy to paddle recreational kayaks with large open cockpits are provided as well as guidance and instruction as needed. This experience is most appropriate for ages 16 and up. Registration is required as space is limited. Additional detailed trip information is shared with those registered. Fee is $35 per person.
