About this Course

Join Outdoor Chattanooga and National Park Partners for a free, family-friendly Walk & Talk at Renaissance Park, open to all generations. This relaxed guided stroll explores the layered history of Chattanooga’s North Shore. Led by National Park Partners' Jennifer Crutchfield, participants of all ages will discover how the Tennessee River and surrounding landscape have made Chattanooga a hub for thousands of years, how it played a vital role in the Civil War, and how it supported the development of the city. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of soldiers, civilians, river crossings, and the transformation of the riverfront from battlefield to vibrant public space. Free. Walk-up event that meets at the Outdoor Chattanooga Center. All generations welcome. Registration is encouraged to help us share any important updates or need-to-know information.
