About this Course

Sherman Strikes! Thursday, July 17,2025 Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a Silver Adventures hike on the South Chickamauga Creek Greenway as we walk in the footsteps of history. Starting at the beautiful Tennessee River we will follow the route of thousands of Union soldiers under the command of William T. Sherman as they move towards what will be the Battle of Missionary Ridge. This moderately easy 2.5 mile walk will also discuss the Cherokee and railroad history of South Chickamauga Creek. The walk will be shuttled, with the van bringing you from the trail end back to your start/parking. Registration is limited due to space in shuttle. Walk up participation is allowed; however, no shuttle provided.
