Join Outdoor Chattanooga on a four mile hike on TVA's Little Cedar Mountain trail. This will be a moderate but leisurely-paced hike with two climbs and two descents, and a total of about 350 feet in elevation gain. "The trails wind past limestone outcroppings, through boulder fields and alongside historical stone walls—farmsteads that formerly populated the region. It’s a junior geologist’s dream. As you make your way up to the overlook, you’ll be offered stunning vistas of Nickajack Reservoir through leafless trees. A small pond provides water for wildlife, which in the summer include salamanders and frogs, and in the winter deer, turkeys and even elusive coyotes." We'll have a couple of scenic views of Nickajack Lake and the surrounding mountains, as well as a chance to see some of Little Cedar Mountain's wide variety of spring wildflowers and animal life. Pre-Registration is required No Fee. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
