About this Course

Enjoy a peaceful evening on the water with Outdoor Chattanooga during a family-friendly early evening Canoe Tour on North Chickamauga Creek. This guided paddling adventure offers a relaxed way to experience the beauty of the creek as the sun begins to set and wildlife becomes active along the shoreline. Before launching, Outdoor Chattanooga instructors will provide basic paddling instruction and water safety guidance to help everyone feel comfortable on the water. Participants will be properly fitted with lifejackets and outfitted with tandem canoes and paddling equipment before heading out on the creek. Our staff will lead the group on a leisurely paddle while sharing tips, offering on-water support, and helping participants spot wildlife along this scenic waterway. Canoes are typically paddled by two people, but families with younger children should know that one small child may have the option to ride in the middle of the canoe, seated on the floor between the adult paddlers. This makes the program a great option for families who want to introduce younger adventurers to paddling in a safe, guided environment. The cost is $10 per person, which includes guides on the water and all canoe equipment (tandem canoe, paddles, lifejackets, and lights). This program is appropriate for ages 6 and up when accompanied by an adult. Some prior paddling experience can be helpful, but it is not required. The guided tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.
