Step back in time and explore the Little Soddy Segment of the Cumberland Trail with Outdoor Chattanoog's lead hiking staff as part of our guided OC Hike Series. This moderate hike combines scenic Appalachian foothills with a fascinating glimpse into the region’s coal mining heritage. Winding through wooded ridges and quiet hollows near Soddy-Daisy, TN, this ~4-mile round-trip hike takes you past remnants of 19th and early 20th-century mining operations. Along the way, our guide will share stories and historical insight into the miners' lives, company towns, and the legacy that shaped this part of the Cumberland Plateau. Whether you're a history buff, nature lover, or simply looking for a rewarding day hike, this outing offers a meaningful connection to both the land and its past. Pre-registration is required. No fee; however, if you can no longer attend please let us know ASAP, as the programs are often waitlisted. Additional trip details are shared by your trip leaders 3 days prior to the program.
