Join Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in partnership with Outdoor Chattanooga and National Park Partners for a FREE guided kayak tour to explore Chattanooga's Civil War waterways as a host National Park Ranger provides a historical narrative of the battles that occurred along the waterway on tour. The National Park Partners sponsor this kayak tour to give visitors the opportunity to paddle the quiet waters of Chickamauga Creek to learn about the rich Civil War and American Indian history associated with Lookout Mountain and Moccasin Bend from a National Park Ranger and historian. Children must be at least 14 years old. No experience is necessary. Some paddling experience is recommended due to the meandering creek and undeveloped launch sites. Low water may require exiting the boat at times. Equipment and instruction provided. Lifejackets provided and required. Directions will be provided by an Outdoor Chattanooga staff two to three days before the program. Registration is required.
