This beginner-friendly trip offers a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Gorge while learning about the landscape and the importance of protecting this cherished environment. As we paddle, we'll take time to appreciate the stunning surroundings and give thanks for the opportunity to explore this incredible place right in Chattanooga’s backyard. The paddle covers 4.4 miles and takes approximately 2 hours on the water. The trip begins at the Raccoon Mountain Boat Ramp and ends at Sullivan’s Landing on Highway 41. Outdoor Chattanooga provides all necessary gear, including kayaks and life jackets, and a shuttle will return participants to their vehicles at the put-in. The kayak tour is considered beginner friendly and is open for ages 16 and up. To ensure a safe and smooth experience, all paddlers are required to use kayaks provided by Outdoor Chattanooga. This helps keep the group together and ensures all boats are compatible with our transport trailer. Confirmation and additional trip details will be sent via email after payment is received.
