About this Course

Outdoor Chattanooga and Tennessee River Gorge Trust have partnered to provide a kayak experience through the TN River Gorge. Learn about this section of the river and how TRGT has participated in the protection of the gorge as you experience the beauty and learn more about the river, and interesting flora and fauna of the gorge, This leisurely paddle is beginner friendly and a wonderful way to experience the Gorge at sunset. Participants will get to paddle an incredible section of river in Chattanooga’s own backyard with experienced guides and TRGT field staff. The paddle is 4.4 miles and roughly 2 hours on the water. The trip will begin at the Raccoon Mountain Boat Ramp and end at Sullivan's Landing on Highway 41. Outdoor Chattanooga will provide kayaks, life jackets, and the van shuttle from the take out back to the vehicles at Raccoon Mtn. All paddlers are required to use Outdoor Chattanooga kayaks as this ensures that all paddlers travel at a similar speed and that the kayaks can be loaded on the trailer. Additional partner program dates with TRGT for 2025 are September 11, September 25, and October 9. Confirmation and additional details will be sent via email after payment is made at least 2 days prior to the program. Seats are limited. Fee is $35 pp. Registration opens 2 weeks before the program date.
